Write it / Do it

Ms. Berman’s Chemistry classes used a Write it / Do it activity like the one found in Science Olympiad to practice communication skills. In Write it / Do it, one person observes an object that has been constructed and then writes a set of instructions for their partner describing how to make the object. The partner gets the instructions and materials and uses the instructions to build the object. The goal is for the original object and the one built by the Doer to look the same.
