Graduation Requirements - High School

Credits needed for a Diploma = 44

8 Credits in English
6 Credits in Social Studies
6 Credits in Math
4 Credits in PE/ROTC
2 Credits in Biology
2 Credits in Physics (for class of 2006 and later)
2 Credits in Chemistry
2 Credits in Foreign Language and 1 credit in Fine or Practical Art
OR
2 Fine Arts credits and 1 Practical Art credit
Meet the Computer Literacy Requirement

-Grade Point Average of 2.0 from Grades 9-12 is required to earn a High School Diploma

-Certificate of Attendance will be issued for a G.P.A. below 2.0

-To Participate in Graduation, 44 required credits must be completed with a 2.0 GPA in citizenship by June of Senior Year

-Senior Exhibition and Portfolio must be successfully completed

-Must maintain Senior Status all year having 32 credits when school begins and 38 credits at the beginning of second semester

 

Graduation Requirements - University of California

A student must complete the following high school courses ("a-g" pattern) to apply to the University of California. This will take 15 units of high school work (a one-year course equals two semesters and is equivalent to one unit) to complete the subject requirement. At least 7 of the 15 units must have been earned in courses taken during the last two years of high school.

A.                             History/Social Science - 2 years

B.                             English - 4 years

C.                            Mathematics - 3 years (Algebra, Geometry, and Intermediate Algebra) [4 Recommended]

D.                            Laboratory Science - 2 years (Biology and Chemistry or Physics) [3 Recommended]

E.                             Languages other than English - 2 years minimum in the same language [3 Recommended]

F.                             Fine and Visual Arts – 1 year (same class for a full year)

G.                            College Preparatory Electives - 1 year (academic courses in at least one of the following subject areas: History, English, Advanced Mathematics, Laboratory Science, Foreign Language, Social Science, and Visual and Performing Arts).
