Writing Awards 2008
The Writing Academy’s
Writing Awards were given out on Wednesday 6/4/08. The winners of the Anneka
Awards for Creative Writing, the NCTE Achievement Award in Writing, and the
Peace Writing Contest were featured.
Also included are the student Writers
Assistants and adults who have given support to the Writing Academy.

Watermania H208
On Friday 6/6, IS celebrated our last school picnic of the
year. Watermania
H208, planned by the Event Planning class was a great way to relax before
the last week of school.

WASC
Accreditation
Congratulations
to everyone involved in our WASC Accreditation. The School of International
Studies received a 6 year accreditation,
which is the most that can be granted.
All of our Parents, Students and Staff did a great job preparing our
Accreditation Report and working with the Accreditation visiting team. A special congratulations and thanks to Jaime Enochs
who acted as our WASC coordinator.
Newsweek
Magazine – Top 100 High Schools
San Diego High, School of International
Studies made the top 100 list again this
year. We are ranked by Newsweek as
#72 based on AP and IB exams taken and the number of graduating

Americas Best
High Schools 2008
San Diego High
– School
of International Studies
was selected by U.S. News and World Report as one of the Best High Schools
in America. Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals were
awarded based on preparing students for college. Gold and Silver Medals were awarded based
on AP exam results (they did not count IB exams), and since we offer IB
exams, we earned the highest medal possible for our school.
